Healthier Brownies
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 4 tablespoons canola oil
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 egg whites
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup plain low fat greek yogurt
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line an 8-inch square pan with baking paper. Whisk together flour, cocoa, sugar and baking soda. Add egg, egg whites, vanilla, yogurt and oil. Mix gently until combined. The batter will be thick. Spread mixture evenly in pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in center of pan comes out dry. Cut into 16 squares.
Per brownie: 106 calories, 4.3g fat (0.6g saturated)
I made these yesterday. Not as dense and fudgey as traditional brownies made with truckloads of butter and chocolate but still moist and really good for half the calories & fat! ;)
