Running Camp day 5
i was freaking upset when i wasn’t allowed to do the morning session. i’m not particularly fond of 6 x 4 min efforts with descending recovery but i need to do it for the sake of my speed. the seniors think that i’ve been overtraining. like seriously i’m doing less training here than in melbourne!!
anyway. went for an easy run on the trails by myself instead. felt much...

Running Camp day 4
15 km on the trails this morning. that was really challenging, took me 1 hour 17 mins. didn’t even know that it was meant to be a recovery run. lol what recovery run, everyone was going sooo fast. it was supposed to be 13 km but i got lost a bit so i ended up running further, my sense of direction is awful -_- i’m really slow compared to almost everyone here so i was just way...

Running Camp day 3
harder session this morning. 4,5 km warm up + 6 x 3 min efforts (4,2 km. that’s 4:17 min/km yay finally i managed to run a quite decent pace here!!) + 3,3 km cool down. my legs (esp hamstrings) were totally dying. and i don’t wear heart rate monitor but i’m quite sure it was like 90% max. must be the altitude, i found 7 min efforts in melbourne is difficult but it...

wait.. so u ended up going there?? :) Great!! ;)
yeah haha having a good time here so far. my coach and seniors are convinced that i’ll do a lot more training if i’m staying at melb. so true though, my mileage last week spiked back to 104 km and i was planning to do like 120 km this week if i’m not going here :p

Running Camp day 2
training session in the morning: mmhh not gonna lie, it’s probably the hardest 11 km that i’ve ever done and my shin wasn’t really helping with the bone bruise. 4,5 km on standard pace + 4,5 km fartlek + 2 km cool down. the fartlek part was totally killing me! my legs were dying and i lost count of how many times i wanted to stop, but i just forced myself to...

Running Camp Day 1
had a really bad motion sickness from 5 hours in the car -_- and it’s really cold here! like melbourne in winter but kinda worse. arrived at 5.30 pm, then went for a run at 6 pm. only 10 km but the altitude and all uphills made it really hard. i was like huffing and puffing all the way, took me 53 minutes to finish it. the elevation is just……… but gotta love...

livinghellcat:
May you find the perfect pair of running shorts that don’t ride up in the crotch. May those shorts always fit and never go out of fashion. May you have a new PR in 2012. May you get a runner’s high every time you run. May that runner’s high not be followed by a runner’s low. May friends look at you and say, “Damn, you’re fly!” (Or something similar.) May you inspire someone...

18.4 km
planned to run 25 km this morning but i was really “off”. at least i still managed to keep running on 4:50 min/km pace so i’m just a bit annoyed with this. i was dehydrated, sluggish and sore. and my right shin was killing me in the first half of my run, but it’s a bone bruise not shin splints or stress fracture thank god so i can still run it off and just pretend like...
hell yeahhh :DDDD
guess whatttt i’m allowed to go to the training camp at falls creek!! my seniors & coach changed their mind :D i managed to convince them that i’ll do a lot more training by myself here than if i go there :p
for example, after training today:
one of the seniors: hey so how’s your running going? me: greattt i ran 15 km yesterday, 18 km on thursday, hill reps on...

had a really nice run this afternoon. the weather is purrrrrfect, i love love love summer! 15 km in 1 hour 12 mins :) sufficient for today. a bit tired because i already did 3 hours of stationary biking this morning. and saving some energy for tomorrow because saturday sessions are almost always killer c:

trying to make myself feel better for not going to Falls Creek by making the list of benefits from training here alone:
1. I can run whenever and as much as I want to, while at Falls Creek i’ll have to follow the training program *which would be intense but likely to have lower mileage than my usual week*
2. I would benefit more from doing speed workouts like 400s or 1000s on the track. I...

ARRRGGGGHHHHH
My family is going to Japan for Christmas - New Year while I’m stuck here in Melbourne all by myself just working part time and training (I don’t mind the training part, though). grrrr. envy envy envy envy envy. the last time I went back to Indonesia was in July, and that feels like ages ago :( if only the club manager told me much earlier that I’m not allowed to go to the 1 week...

easy-ish 18 km run
did it in 1 hour 29 minutes. felt so nice & relaxing, after 2 days in a row of hard arse sessions :) i started running at 10 am today, because i was just way too sluggish (from hill repeats yesterday) to go out earlier. and i prefer warmer weather for running :p lol i have no idea how could i survive all those 4 am runs when i was still in Indonesia a few years ago, not nearly as intense as...

unexpectedly good session
3 km warm up + 6x500m hill repeats + 2,5 km recovery walk-jog + 1,5 km cool down. my legs are so dead now, i haven’t done hill repeats since ages. why why why the coach wanted us to do hills today because it’s in the middle of track season right now, xc is still so far away :/ anyhooo, i did each of the reps in around 2:10-2:13…. which is at least 10-15 freaking...

20 km run on treadmill :D
1 hour 32 minutes. 4:37 min/km with 1% incline. my legs were dying but that was a really good run! :) too bad that’s my last treadmill run for this year because the gym at melb uni will be closed until 3rd january :(
after that killer run, i did 45 mins of strength exercises: 3x15 tricep pull down with 30 kg weight, 4x15 lateral pull down with 25 kg weight, seated cable row with...

AV Shield round 9
did the 3000m in 12:19. not bad for my first one, esp with the fact that i don’t like racing short distances. 5 km warm up & 3 km cool down. that was my 17th and last race for this year! i’m still a bit amazed that I actually survived all those races :D got sunburnt from helping out at shot put earlier this afternoon -.- oh well at least now my shoulders are on the same...
